Have you ever met a criminal that loved the person or people against whom he committed crimes?
David, a Judean King, prophet of God, and psalmist, may not be much admired today because of all the hateful words:
Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.
Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.
Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.
I hate and abhor lying: but thy law do I love.
Psalm 139:21, 22
Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.
